Texas is the latest state to consider allowing people to wager on both professional and amateur sporting events. Cara Gustafson with the Sports Betting Alliance says there are safeguards in place to prevent kids from gambling away their allowance. It's estimated that sports betting would bring in as much as 180-million dollars in new revenue. A hearing on Wednesday in the legislature came as the state of Arizona is poised to allow sports gambling. Gustafson says it's part of a nationwide trend.
