Scott Drew is fulfilling his promise of a national title with the Bears' 86-70 defeat of Gonzaga on Monday. After rebuilding the program from the Dave Bliss era over the past 18 years, Baylor athletic director Mack Rhoades said Tuesday that Drew is that man he wants leading the program for the foreseeable future. Baylor is a private school that does not release coaches' contracts, but it is believed that the two are working on a long-term deal that keeps Drew at the helm of the Bears past 2027.
