Gonzaga, Baylor Advance To NCAA Tournament Championship Game

It took one of the most dramatic endings in NCAA Tournament history for the top-seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs to put away the 11th-seeded UCLA Bruins. Jalen Suggs banked home a three-pointer as the buzzer sounded in overtime to lift the 'Zags to a 93-90 win to preserve their pursuit of perfection. Drew Timme had a team-high 25 points and drew the charge that forced overtime. Suggs finished with 16 points for the Bulldogs. Johnny Juzang finished with a game-high 29 points. Earlier in the day, number-one seed Baylor breezed past number-two seeded Houston 78-59 in the other Final Four matchup. Jared Butler had 17 points to lead the Bears while Marcus Sasser had 20 for the Cougars.

Gonzaga and Baylor will meet on Monday night in the National Championship game. The Bulldogs are seeking to become the first undefeated National Champions since the 1975-76 Indiana Hoosiers. While neither team has ever cut down the nets before, the Bears were the Tournament runners-up in 1948. The Zags and Baylor have spent the majority of the season as the numbers one and two ranked teams in the Coaches Poll.
