Legislature Scrutinizes No-Knock Warrants

A key part in the push to reform policing is the end of "no-knock" warrants. Groups like Mothers Against Police Brutality say the forcible, unannounced raids are often violent, and tend to turn up little evidence. John Fullinwider testified before the Texas state legislature this week in favor of a bill that would outlaw "no-knock" warrants. Police groups want to keep the right to carry out the raids, but with restrictions, such as authorization by a judge.
