Inside The Donna, Texas Migrant Facility

A camera was allowed into a South Texas migrant facility today. U.S. Border Patrol allowed the camera in the Donna facility where they described how agents process unaccompanied minor cases.

The deputy chief of U.S. Border Patrol says the facility is housing 4,100 migrants. The facility was approved for about 250 during the coronavirus pandemic. Raul Ortiz says he has no choice because Health and Human Services does not have a place for them to go.

Thousands of migrant children have crossed the border seeking asylum leading to the current surge. A number of cities have set up temporary shelters as federal officials try to process the children and set them up with families as they await their day in court.
