Judge: Whistleblower Lawsuit Against State AG Paxton Can Continue

Gavel on sounding block

A state judge is allowing a whistleblower lawsuit against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton to proceed. Four former executives at Paxton's office are suing, claiming they were fired after accusing him of misconduct. State District Judge Amy Clark Meachum rejected a bid to dismiss the lawsuit on Tuesday evening. Paxton's office soon notified the judge that it had filed an appeal, which puts a stop to further action on the case. That includes an April 5th hearing on a request by two of the plaintiffs to get their jobs back.
