Governor Abbott Plans Address On Immigrant Kids Situation

Governor Greg Abbott is set to speak on the issue of immigrant children at the southern border. The Governor will address immigration policy and unaccompanied children today in a media event planned to happen at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas. The site will be used to house thousands of unaccompanied immigrant minors. The kids will be brought from the border and stay at the Convention Center no longer than 90-days while they wait for an asylum hearing. The temporary housing is also provided to allow time for the children to be connected with relatives already living in this country or with adoptive households.
