Ag Experts: Freeze Did 600 Million Dollars Of Damage To TX Farming Industry

Agricultural experts say Texas suffered more than 600 million dollars in agricultural losses in last month's winter storm. They told a Texas House committee on Thursday some segments of the state agricultural industry may not fully recover for five years. Cattle died when icy conditions froze stock tanks and delayed feed transport. Dairy producers had to dump out 20 million dollars' worth of milk. Greenhouses collapsed, and the citrus crop in the Rio Grande Valley was almost completely destroyed.
