Poteet Strawberry Festival Will Ask Guests To Wear Masks

The Poteet Strawberry Festival is proceeding this year, though visitors will be asked to wear masks.

The event's organizers says volunteers and staff will be required to mask up at next month's festival. The Poteet Strawberry Festival Association says social distancing and sanitization policies will still be in place.

Organizers released the following statement, "The health and safety of our guests, volunteers and staff remains our highest priority as we move forward with having the 2021 festival. Our plans for additional sanitizing and distancing remain in place as well as working with our local/state officials in order to provide the safest experience for all in attendance at our event. All of our staff and volunteers will be wearing masks and we strongly encourage our guests to do the same. We are all aware there are risks associated with public gatherings, but also know this is a final opportunity for many of us to avoid closing our doors for good. Working as a team, we can enjoy a safe and fun-filled festival that will bring us together and allow us to continue to provide for our community."

The three-day event is scheduled for April 9th to the 11th. Last year's festival was canceled because of the pandemic.
