Abbott: More Than 50-Percent Of Texas Seniors Have Been Vaccinated

Gov. Greg Abbott says more than half of the state's seniors have been vaccinated against the coronavirus.

Abbott tweeted the announcement on Monday. He also sent a series of tweets noting that the state's positivity rate is just below 8%, the lowest in five-months, and that the number of hospitalizations is the lowest since October.

The governor noted that Texas is scheduled to receive nearly one-point-four-million coronavirus vaccine doses this week. He encouraged all seniors and teachers to make an appointment for one.
