Bars Hope To Bounce Back After Being Allowed To Reopen

Members of the Texas Bar and Nightclub Alliance are delighted with Gov. Greg Abbott's order ending pandemic business restrictions. TBNA President Michael Klein says Abbott's move is "long overdue," and that bars and taverns have been "unfairly punished and penalized" for the past year. The TBNA filed several lawsuits last year saying Abbott's executive order closing all bars was unconstitutional. The alliance lost the federal suit, but won at the local level in Montgomery County. Klein says 40% of the state's bars have closed permanently because of the pandemic.
