Abbott Names New Head Of Public Utility Commission

Gov. Greg Abbott is naming the new chairman of the Public Utility Commission of Texas. Abbott announced Wednesday that Austin native Arthur D'Andrea will serve one term as the chair of the PUC, which regulates the state's electric, water, sewer, and telecommunication utilities. D'Andrea takes over for former chair DeAnn Walker, who resigned on Monday after widespread criticism following last month's winter storm and the resulting power loss. D'Andrea has been a commissioner for the PUC since late 2017.
