Public Schools In Texas Wait For TEA Word On Lifting COVID Restrictions

Public school staffers around Texas await the Texas Education Agency's view on lifting COVID-19 restrictions. Governor Greg Abbott announced yesterday that the restrictions will be lifted as of March 10th. It remains to be seen whether schools will now follow through as well and eliminate the need for mask use in the classroom. TEA Commissioner Mike Morath says the agency's guidance will be updated later this week. Morath said the changes will "allow for some degree of continuation of what we had before" regarding mask use and social distancing.
