Texas National Guard Members To Start Vaccinating Rural Seniors

More than a thousand members of the Texas National Guard will be called upon to administer vaccines to seniors in rural parts of the state. Gov. Greg Abbott said Thursday that the plan is part of an effort to get most Texans age 65 and older vaccinated by the end of March. Abbott also said that increased vaccine supply could enable the state to offer doses to more Texans in the coming month. So far the Texas Department of State Health Services has given priority to Texans age 65 and older and people with chronic medical conditions.
