Texans Who Use SNAP Can Now Buy Ready To Eat Hot Meals

Texans using the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or SNAP can now buy hot ready to eat meals under the program. Governor Greg Abbott made the announcement Sunday. In his statement Abbott thanked the U.S. Department of Agriculture for its approval of a waiver so Texans can use SNAP to get a hot meal such as a rotisserie chicken at a grocery store deli. The waiver is good through the end of March.
