Texas Governor Greg Abbott is telling natural gas producers they have to keep their gas in-state.
The governor says the in-state sales will help restore power to millions of Texans unable to turn on the lights. Texas has been hit hard by winter storms this week with the Electric Reliability Council of Texas enacting temporary power outages due to demand. ERCOT leadership has defending the moves saying it kept catastrophic blackouts from happening. Abbott's order runs until next Monday.
