GOP State Rep Files Texas Secession Bill

A bill calling for Texas to secede from the United States is now before the state legislature. State Rep. Kyle Biedermann, a Republican from Fredericksburg, filed the proposed legislation on Friday. Biedermann says HB-1359 doesn't call for "immediate independence," but would allow Texans to vote on whether to create a committee to develop a plan for secession. The bill isn't considered likely to pass, and is already getting pushback from other Republicans.
