Musk Says SpaceX Waiting On FAA Approval For SN-9 Hop

The highly anticipated first test flight of the new SpaceX Starship prototype is still on hold. SpaceX founder and CEO Elon Musk tweeted that his company is still waiting for the FAA to approve plans for the SN-9 launch from the company's Boca Chica Beach research facility. SpaceX canceled the scheduled closure of the area around the launch facility. A test was originally slated for Monday, with optional days for Tuesday and today being targeted. State Highway 4 and the beach area near the site are closed any time the company does engine testing or plans a launch.
