New Bills In Texas Legislature Deal With Clean Energy Production

Several new bills before the Texas Legislature deal with energy efficiency and renewable sources. One bill would require utilities statewide to comply with new energy-savings goals, but would leave the determination of each utility's savings goal to the Public Utility Commission. Another bill would require the PUC to study the feasibility of increasing renewable energy in the state grid. Two bills would limit where wind farms could be built in the state, especially in areas along the border and near military bases.
