City Councilman Seeks Relief For Food And Beverage Industry

A San Antonio city councilman is trying to get more financial support from the city for businesses in the food and beverage industry. District 1 Councilman Roberto Trevino submitted a council consideration request in mid-October concerning a program of 35-million-dollars in grants for restaurants, bars, and caterers. Nearly three months later, the proposal hasn't yet made it onto the council's agenda. The city has doled out nearly 30-million-dollars in federal CARES Act funds for businesses, of which nearly nine-million went to the food industry.
