The Texan infected with the United Kingdom coronavirus variant reportedly has no history of travel. Texas Department of State Health Services Commissioner Dr. John Hellerstedt says it's not surprising the virus is in Harris County because of how virulent it is. He believes the UK version of the virus is probably already spreading through the state. Hellerstedt noted the variant does not seem to be more a severe version, and vaccines are effective against it. The first Texas case of the UK virus was reported on Thursday.
