Judge Rules In Favor Of Austin's Restaurant Curfew

A Texas judge is allowing Austin and Travis County's restaurant curfew to stay in place. Judge Amy Clark Meachum issued the ruling late this afternoon saying eateries and bars had to shut down at 10:30 p.m. this evening. They'll be allowed to re-open at 6 a.m. tomorrow but have to close again at 10:30 p.m. each night until January 3rd. The governments say they just want to keep people safe from coronavirus. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton says the curfew violates Governor Greg Abbott's executive order on business operations and is expected to appeal.
