The San Antonio Spurs have the first woman to serve as an NBA head coach during a regular-season game. Assistant coach Becky Hammon filled in last night after head coach Gregg Popovich was ejected in the first half of their game against the Lakers. The Spurs lost, 121-107. After the game, Hammon said, "Obviously, it's a big deal," and a "substantial moment." The 43-year-old Hammon is a six-time WNBA All-Star and has been on the Spurs coaching staff for seven seasons.
