FDA Approves Moderna's COVID-19 Vaccine

The F-D-A is granting emergency use authorization to Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine. It is the second vaccine the agency has approved for use against the coronavirus pandemic. The agency earlier approved Pfizer and BioNTech's vaccine for emergency use. Moderna reports that no one who received the vaccination in its clinical trial developed a severe case of COVID-19. Just like the Pfizer vaccine, each patient will need to get two doses. The Massachusetts-based company plans to produce about 20 million doses by the end of this year.
