El Paso County Judge Samaniego Announces New Holiday Curfews

El Paso County Judge Ricardo Samaniego has announced new holiday curfews due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19. The new curfew will run from ten p-m until five o-clock the next morning from December 23rd through the 26th, and the same hours will be in effect from December 30th through January fourth. Exemptions from the curfews include El Pasoans going to work, to the store or to seek medical help. It's similar to the curfew the city installed over the Thanksgiving holiday which Samaniego says he believes helped keep the number of coronavirus cases down.
