An industry publication is honoring HEB as "Grocer of the Year" because of its handling of the coronavirus pandemic. HEB has dealt with the situation by limiting purchases of certain products, offering curbside and delivery service, and paying bonuses to its employees. The San Antonio-based grocery chain started preparing for the pandemic in January, well before cases of the virus started to spike in March.
