Police are investigating after two pedestrians were hit and killed while crossing a street on the city's West Side. The accident happened at about 6:20 Wednesday evening on Culebra Road near Northwest 19th Street. Paramedics tried to save the lives of the two victims, described as a man and a woman in their 50s or 60s, but they were both dead at the scene. Police say the pair were about 100 feet from the closest pedestrian crosswalk. The driver involved is not suspected of DWI. The victims' names haven't been released.
