A SpaceX Starship prototype is scheduled for a test launch from South Texas this week. The rocket, named Serial Number 8, is gearing up to make a nearly 50-thousand-foot flight, which would be the furthest any Starship prototype has flown. Starship is the spacecraft that billionaire backer Elon Musk hopes will take 100 people to Mars someday. The launch from the spaceport facility in Boca Chica is scheduled for no sooner than Wednesday.
