San Marcos residents are under a boil-water notice until 5 p.m. Saturday. City officials say construction damage to a city water main caused a water pressure drop on Thursday afternoon. Public Services Director Tom Taggart says the boil notice is a precaution, because there's no evidence of water contamination. He says a boil-water notice is the usual procedure whenever there's a loss of pressure in the main lines for an extended time.
