AAA Travel says fewer Texans will be traveling for Thanksgiving this year because of the pandemic. Health concerns and higher unemployment are keeping a lot of people off the roads. Triple-A is expecting a drop in travel volume in Texas by more than five-percent from last year's holiday. That's the biggest one-year drop since the recession of 2008. It breaks down to nearly four-million Texans traveling, down from four-point-two-million last November. Most Texas travelers plan to drive, and to travel both fewer miles and fewer days.
