Outfielder George Springer has rejected the Astros' qualifying offer of $18.9 million for 2021. If he signs with another club, the Astros would receive a draft pick as compensation. Springer led Houston with 14 home runs in the shortened season and hit four more in the postseason. The Astros are expected to try to re-sign the three-time AL All-Star to a multi-year contract, but as a free agent the bidding is anticipated to be high.
