So far, more than 7 million Texans have voted early in the 2020 general election. That count is as of Saturday, the 12th day of early voting in Texas, and is the total of Texans who have voted in person and by mail. The figure represents more than 42% of the registered voters in Texas. Gov. Greg Abbott extended the early voting period by nearly a week because of the pandemic, and election officials expect a large number of mail-in ballots.
