Gregg Sofer is the new U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Texas. U.S. Attorney General William Barr appointed Sofer, who was sworn in on Tuesday at the federal courthouse in San Antonio. Sofer is now responsible for prosecuting violations of federal law and representing the federal government in lawsuits involving the United States. The Western District's headquarters are in San Antonio, with offices in Austin, Waco, El Paso, and several other cities.
