In the Supreme Court confirmation hearings now underway in the Senate, Texas Republican Ted Cruz says for Judge Amy Coney Barrett's credentials are impeccable. President Trump nominated the conservative Barrett to replace liberal Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who recently died of cancer. Barrett's confirmation would create a solid 6-3 conservative majority on the Supreme Court. Democrats oppose giving Trump a third appointee to the high court, especially so soon before next month's presidential election.
