Appeals Court Upholds Limit On Ballot Drop-Off Boxes

A federal appeals court has upheld Governor Greg Abbott’s order that limits counties to one drop-off site for mail-in ballots. Voting rights groups filed lawsuits against the governor's order, claiming that only allowing one drop-off site makes voting more difficult for disabled and elderly voters. A U.S. District Judge sided with the groups and blocked the order on Friday, a decision that was quickly appealed by AG Ken Paxton. The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals overturned the ruling last night, stating that Abbott actually expanded voting options by allowing drop-off sites before Election Day.
