Thousands Without Power Due To Hurricane Delta

Thousands of utility customers along the Texas-Louisiana border, including residents in the Beaumont and Port Arthur areas, are without power after Hurricane Delta hit Friday night.

The storm made landfall near Creole, Louisiana. Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards says power outages are widespread in his state following Hurricane Delta. At its peak, there were more than 688,000 utility customers without service. The hurricane made landfall last night as a Category 2 storm, coming ashore just 12 miles from where Hurricane Laura made landfall six weeks ago. Delta is now a post-tropical cyclone as it moves inland and was located about 80 miles west-southwest of Tupelo Mississippi at last check.
