Texas Supreme Court Rejects Lawsuit Over Election Procedures

The Texas Supreme Court is rejecting a lawsuit by the Harris County Republican Party and state GOP over election procedures. Justices said today those involved in the suit lack standing because they waited too long to sue Governor Greg Abbott over his July 27th proclamation on early voting. The governor moved the start of early voting up a week while also saying early voting ballot could also be delivered on election day. The court also criticized the groups for immediately asking the Texas Supreme Court for an opinion instead of going to lower courts.
