Staff for the Texas attorney general are asking federal officials to investigate their boss for a multitude of allegations, including abuse of office, improper influence, and bribery. The one-page letter to the state agency's director of human resources, seven executives in the upper tiers of the office call for an investigation into Ken Paxton. The 57-year-old Republican was elected in 2014. In a statement Saturday, his office said "false claims is a very serious matter and we plan to investigate this to the fullest extent of the law," without elaborating further.
