SXSW is coming back next year with an online festival. Fans will be able to check out film and music screenings and take part in sessions and exhibitions.
The festival is still open to having an in person event, but CEO and Co-Founder Roland Swenson says 2020 has reshaped their perspective on connecting the creative industries. The festival is also changing its showcase application process by giving priority to musicians, artists and presenters who were scheduled at the 2020 event. This year's festival was set to take place in March but was canceled shortly before its start date due to concerns over the coronavirus pandemic.
