High-Speed Train Between Dallas & Houston Gets Federal Approval

A high speed train between Houston and Dallas is making progress toward being built.  The U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Railroad Administration announced the publication of the Record of Decision and the Rule of Particular Applicability documents.

CEO of Texas Central Railroad, Carlos Aguilar says this is representative of years of work. The publication of the documents means the railroad has established minimum safety requirements that need to be outlined before construction can begin. The train will be modeled after the Japanese Tokaido Shinkansen high-speed rail system which has been running for 55 years with zero accidents.
