City council members are taking no steps to defund the San Antonio Police Department. The council votes on the fiscal year 2021 budget today, and spent Wednesday evening tinkering with provisions of the plan. City staff presented $4 million in proposed amendments, and more than two-million more in capital spending. Most of the proposals dealt with housing, health, and small-business programs. None of them had to do with the police, whose officers are in for a raise next year.
