Republican Senator John Cornyn and his Democratic challenger MJ Hegar will have their only scheduled debate on October 9th in Austin. The one-hour debate will be held at the Bullock Texas State History Museum. There won't be a live audience, but Nexstar Broadcasting will air the debate on 15 of its TV stations, including KXAN in Austin. Hegar's campaign says she's also agreed to two more October debates. Cornyn says he'd be happy to participate in more than just one.
