World Series To Be Played In Texas

Major League Baseball is adopting a sort of bubble approach to the playoffs. The league says the World Series will be played at Globe Life Field, the new home of the Texas Rangers in Arlington.

It's the first time in modern history that the World Series will be played at a neutral site. The last time it happened was in 1944, when the St. Louis Cardinals played the St. Louis Browns in the World Series.

Major League Baseball has also announced division series sites. Petco Park in San Diego and Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles will host the American League Division Series while the ALCS will be played only in San Diego. National League teams will play the NLDS in Arlington and Minute Maid Park in Houston before the NLCS moves exclusively to Arlington. Baseball says the top four seeds who are involved in the best of three Wild Card Series at the start of the playoffs will be able to play in their home parks. The playoffs begin September 29th.
