Wildfires raging across the West have burned an area nearly the size of Connecticut. The National Fire Information Center says over 90 major fires burning in 13 Western states have destroyed more than 5,300 square miles. At least seven people are confirmed to have died in the fires in California, Oregon and Washington. At least 12 people are missing in Northern California, where thousands have been trying to escape the Bear Fire, which has killed three people. Several towns north of Sacramento are under evacuation orders.
