Northside ISD officials are defending their denial of nearly a quarter of their employees' applications to work remotely this school year. Officials with San Antonio's largest school district says they cautiously gave employees the chance to seek medical waivers because of the coronavirus pandemic. 1,150 employees applied to work remotely, and 278 of them were denied. Another 39 applications were still pending as of late August.
