Dallas Police Chief Resigns

Dallas Police Chief Renee Hall is resigning. The city announced her decision to step down today without providing specifics. She had been criticized for conflicting information in an after action report regarding the response to protests over the death of George Floyd in Minnesota. It included the mass arrest of protesters on a bridge near downtown and the use of less than lethal ammunition on demonstrators. There were also complaints about rising crime in Dallas. Hall was the first female African-American police chief of the Dallas Police Department.
