Dallas County Reports Two Dead From West Nile Virus

Health officials are reporting Dallas County's first two West Nile virus deaths of the year. Dallas County Health and Human Services on Sunday confirmed the deaths of two elderly Dallas residents. There have been seven confirmed human cases of West Nile in Dallas County in 2020. Mosquito samples have tested positive for the virus in a number of cities in the county, including Dallas, Farmers Branch, Garland, Irving, Mesquite, and Richardson. The first North Texas death from West Nile this year was reported in Denton on Friday.
