Witte Museum Receives Grant To Preserve And Expand Fossil Collection

The Witte Museum is on the receiving end of a grant to preserve and expand its fossil collection. Dr. Thomas Adams says the quarter-million-dollar grant from the Institute of Museums and Library Services is for the museum's geology and paleontology collections. In addition, the Witte will be recognized as a state and federal repository, enabling it to obtain permits to collect fossils on state and federal lands. Dr. Adams points out that there are a great many dinosaur fossil sites in Texas.
