County GOP, State Sue Harris County Clerk Over Mail-In Ballots

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is suing Harris County over its plan to send applications for mail-in ballots for the November general election to more than two-million registered voters. Paxton acted at the request of the secretary of state to ask a state district court to stop Harris County Clerk Chris Hollins from sending the applications to every registered voter in the county. He points out Hollins lacks the legal authority to carry out the plan. The Harris County Republican Party also filed a petition on Sunday with the Texas Supreme Court to stop Hollins.
