Houston City Councilors Pushing Police Reforms

Five members of the Houston City Council have sent a letter to Mayor Sylvester Turner pushing police reforms. The letter says, "the urgency needed to address police misconduct and racial injustice requires solutions that lead to actionable and impactful reform." The proposed measures include an overhaul of the police oversight board and the creation of an independently-maintained online platform for the public to report complaints about police misconduct.
